Jon Foreman - 25 IN 24

Hi! So the fact that this forum exists is super awesome and exciting, and the description for it suggested introducing ourselves. Seemed like a thread should exist for just that.

So I’m Haley, as you can see. I’m a college student living in Florida, but I’ve moved around a lot. I also work part-time as a box office cashier, which sounds super boring, but I actually think it’s really cool because I get to see lots of behind-the-scenes stuff for different concerts and events. It’s absolutely fascinating.

During the rare times that I’m not at school, studying, or working, I read, write, create graphic designs, make music, and dive into whatever new and exciting thing I can find. The last thing was literal diving when I tried scuba diving for the first time. I definitely want to get certified now.

I’m a pretty new fan of Jon (hi, Jon!) and Switchfoot. I actually just discovered them and their music while they were on tour with Lifehouse, but, as is often the case with me, I dove head first almost immediately.

So, yeah. That’s a little bit about me. What about you? Who are you people? What’s the world look like through your eyes?

My name is Helen, i live in the UK, out west, and yes Virginie i am absolutely incurable! :D
I'm an environmental scientist and activist, currently working in fundraising for a nature conservation charity. I wanna see miracles, to see the world change... it's tough giving your (work and personal) life to trying to push for change in a world that so often resists or where money gets put ahead of real human needs, but Switchfoot give me the lyrics that inspire me to keep going.
I was blessed, somehow (thank You God!!), to have been introduced to SF back in 1999. Before too long they'd gone from being completely new to me to one of my favourite bands, to being my #1. Over the years i got more and more into them and their lyrics became even more a part of me. And when Jon started blogging and releasing solo music and i loved it just as much, i figured out my fandom went even bigger than just SF; I'm crazy about basically everything that guy does! He's never made a single song i didn't like, with any of his three acts, and that just should not be possible!! When he released The Wonderlands, and talked about wanting to create a world out of song, that connected; his songs form the structure and colour of my inner world. I am a Wonderlands native :) I feel like i discovered hidden treasure.
Anyway. For various reasons, i never saw them live till 2011, and then that was it; i knew i had to be a better fan and take every chance i had to see them in future. In 2015 i finally got that chance, and followed their European tour, where i met them the first time, and Jon absolutely blew me away by 'out-thanking' me - I'd done it to give back some appreciation to him for all those years I'd never shown up as a fan, but found him giving back even more to me! So now i know we fam matter so much to them I'm even more committed. Last year i still can't get my head round - SF played two whole tours here and i saw almost every show, and my first solo show too (like Virginie says - wow!! I was in the wrong country and had to rebook a whole new set of travel tickets at the last minute but SO WORTH IT!! I knew it would be beautiful but was entirely unprepared for just how much). My heart is full!
25in24 is so special to me; apart from being my dream come true (a whole day of Jon's music!), it happened on a really significant date for me, and i stayed up watching it all online. I've never been so proud of him, it was incredible, and he just got better and better! So I'm desperate to see this movie and be able to support him with this. Any Brits out there want to join me? :)

I'm Beatrice and I live near Toulouse in the south of France.
I'm a wife, a mom (I've got three kids, a beautiful daughter and my twin boys), I used to work in a laboratory analyzing water (I'm a chemist), but since the boys are there, I'm a soccer mom instead!
I love taking care of my family, my house...

I'm also a TV show fan, and one day, a friend of mine who took a road trip in California told me to listen to Air1 radio, that the music was great and that I might recognize certain songs played in TV shows.
At the time, Air1 had "Afterlife» played several times a day, and the riff on the guitar had me the first time I heard it.
I discovered that I knew them through several shows (Veronica Mars, Grey's anatomy, Spiderman and Narnia...), but I fell in love with the Vice Versus album...

So, this year, it was quite a surprise to see them coming in Paris for the first time ever, on mother's day!!!!
My kids offered me a ticket to see the show. My daughter came with me. We spent the week end in Paris and the show was a blast. I think they hit us with something more than music... The crowd, the venue, the show, the rock, the sweat, Jon, Tim, Drew, Chad, Jerome... Everything was perfect. Best concert ever!
I think I have the same disease than Virginie... Something in the air that day...

My boys were a little jealous because they also love Switchfoot, but the concert was on a school night and they couldn't come. So, when we came back from Paris, I promised to take them to their next tour in Europe, on one condition... a city where there's a direct flight from Toulouse... and few days later, Switchfoot announced the Looking for Europe Part 2.
The date for the London show was perfect. It was during some holydays, a two hours direct flight…
We booked our tickets and the dream came true!

My boys came back from there with stars in their eyes! Edge of the earth is now their anthem.
The whole family is Switchfoot addict.

Now, we want to make it to the next level. The goal is to come to San Diego. Not this year though, but we will save money, and one day, we will be there!

But in the meantime, we will watch (the five of us) the 25in24 movie with all of you around the world. If some folks near Toulouse or Albi are interested, I can throw a bigger #HouseParty

Hey you guys ! Hows it going? Now to those that have so posted in here! Hi yas! Think you all know me, right?

However, maybe you dont know me that well?

So here it goes.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who in 2010 drove with some friends to a festival in the north of the UK. This girl had found out that a band were playing at this christian festival and was curious to find out what she thought.

This band was a rock band called Switchfoot played several songs. Now this girl had heard of Switchfoot being in existence, however, she stupidly hadn’t previously listened to them or follwed them on social media. During the performance, the band played “Your love is a song”. When the girl heard this song, she instantly fell in love with the song, their sound, & their music.

She decided to buy the album Hello Hurricane, & there atfer she bought the others.

A few years later, this same band played at the same festival. The girl, however, found out that this band were playing other dates in the UK & beyond! On a whim, & at fairly short notice, she bought a ticket, she bought vip, & booked a room to stay at overnight in Edinburgh.

So it came to the morning of the concert. The girl found that when she awoke, she had overslept!!

In a mad panic she scrambled herself together, & quickly set off on the 3 hour drive north to Edinburgh.

Eventually she got to the hotel, threw her things into the hotel room, grabbed what she needed & tried to make her way to the venue.

However, on her way to the venue, the girl got lost!!, & had to ask for directions SEVERAL times!

When she eventually got to the venue, there was no sign of any activity. The girl thought that either that they were running badly behind (as the previous night the bands transport had broken down), or she had missed out! Patiently she waited for some sign of activity.

The next thing she knew, people were exiting the venue! She thought that she had missed her chance!

However, words were spoken, & she was kindly invited inside to meet the bands singer, Jon Foreman. Jon was kind, patient, funny, & made the girl feel special. The girl knew that she’d remember & treasure these moments for the rest of her life!

It came to the time for the concert to start. The band Switchfoot played soo many wonderful songs. During one song, because Jon had noticed the girl, & had noticed she was filming on her phone, Jon borrowed the girls pone whilst singing to ta

take some photos & to shoot a short film! The girl found this to be unbelievably special, & again knew shed tresure this memory forever! This moment was made even the more special because of humour attached to this moment! (See the video!)

After this concert, the girl, & others found out that Jon was playing an aftershow. The girl had to go along! He sang so well both during the concert & the aftershow the girl thought. Afterwards, the girl & others made there way to the bus to say goodbye to Switchfoot. The girl & others didn’t want to go, so they hung out with each other a little, so that they could all hang onto the Eurphoria that they had gained.

The girl met & made friends with the other people, & one in particular, who would help to change the amount of love she had for Switchfoot foreve!

All of this, however, is just part of the beginning of the girl’s story ...

Thanks haylet. I truly believe that when stress or mild or in fact any type of disater comes that beauty can come from it, & possibly be found in or through it, if we look hard enought to find it! I have a saying, “Beauty is out there! - All we have to do is to look!”

Sooo many wonderful & beautiful things have happened since these moments from first truly meeting Jon! Ill be forever grateful & thankful for those moments, for Switchfoot & the team, & to Jon obviously himself! - Jon IF you ever read this, (i know ive said this a million times to you, but THANK YOU!)

I love this little Introduction from around the globe! Hello everyone :) I am German, but lived on the East Coast USA 2008-2015. Since 2015 I am back in Germany, and currently working on my Master Degree. During my time studying and working there, I lived my life for God, Children, and Music :) I had discovered Switchfoot in 2007, and my first concert was December 2009...Hello Hurricane Tour! I never wanted music to be in charge my life, but to see it as an inspiration to live out God´s glory -but Switchfoots lyrics seem to do just that. I got to see Switchfoot 12 times, and saw Fiction Family once as well as Jon on Solo show with Heavy and Light. My bucket list, hopefully with graduating with my Master next year would be Broam 2019 :) Until then.....LIFE IS SHORT, LIVE IT WELL!

I am studying Clinical Psychology :) -Aiming to become a Children´s Therapist. I definitely recommend Heavy and Light, hope they will have a livestream again. Ooooh and Fiction Family - their Reunion Tour that they did with Album #2 was really cool. I have a feeling with Switchfoot not touring in the "foreseeable future" (let´s pray that´s not too long), FIction Family may do something together again...Sean Watkins was in the movie :) Last Year Switchfoot did 1 show in Germany, of course I went! :) Greetings from Cold Snowy Northern Germany!
